Full Moon Fever

At least that's what I'm calling the other night, even though the full moon is actually tonight and even though it probably had more to do with Jacob teething and William missing his daddy. If you had the misfortune of talking to me over email or on the phone that morning you've already heard about this in excrushiating detail, so here I will give a quick time table and be done with it.

7:30 - Jacob falls asleep and I put him in his co-sleeper
8:30 - William is in bed, teeth brushed - things are going smoothly
9:45 - I am STILL lying in bed with a very awake William
9:50 - Jacob starts crying from the other room, when I move to go get him, William bursts into tears crying "Hold Weeyom! Hold Weeyom!" I brink Jacob into William's bed and arrange ourselves so that I can nurse Jacob and reach one arm over to hold William and use the other arm to defend Jacob from William's tossing and turning.
10:45 - I wake up still in William's bed, still in my clothes, still needing to make William's lunch and still needing to dispose of a very large pot of green kitchiri that sounded good at the time but ended up embodying the yuckiest attributes of 'food as medicine'
11:00 -My attempt to put a sleeping Jacob into his bed fails miserably, I shimmy out of my jeans and climb with him into my own bed in my sweater, t-shirt and underwear.
11:00-2:00 - Jacob's nose is plugged so he proceeded to toss and turn, stab me with his sharp toenail and want to nurse and bite on an off.
2:00am - William starts whining/crying "Moooommmmyyyyyy" from his room. I walk in, carrying Jacob and a Candella and guide William back into my bed.
2:00am - 5am - Jacob is crying and thrashing and screaming, he will not settle down, I change his diaper and give him Tylenol. I walk with him around the house, show him the moon and try to nurse him, he only bites. William is simultaneously weaping "Hold Weeyom! Hold Weeyom!" and hanging onto my legs
5:00am - I give up and turn the TV on. William is transfixed - usually this kind of thing worries me but at this point I am thankful. Jacob seems entertained by the tv as well.
5:15am - The tv crashes - I can't get any channels. William starts crying "Wanna watch the show!!!" and Jacob commences with his painful cries.
5:20am - I manage to wrangle up an old Sesame Street - William is happy.
5:25am - I set Jacob down on the padded floor cushion to get a drink of water and step in dog poop on my way to the kitchen. I turn on the light as see that the whole dining area is a minefield of poop; a mote of urine under the table.
6:00am - I am done cleaning up after the dog. Jacob seems almost content on the floor. The sun is almost up. I decide that bacon and pancakes are the only logical next step - the only option for saving the morning.

Well, that didn't turn out quite so quick, but at least now it's out of my system. Done. no more complaining.
